Note: According to the 1880 census Milton Berry (sic) and his wife Mahala were listed with a son, Larkin age two, a newborn daughter, and Milton's mother Sarah all living together. Milton, Mahala, and Sarah all state that they and their parents were born in Alabama. Sarah is listed as a widow.

But who is Larkin? A son two years old should be Charles Bethelle Berrey, my great grandfather, and I know his birthdate is correct. Could this have been a childhood nickname that made it onto the census? Maybe he was called Larkin after his grandfather.

          An unnamed cemetery was on old maps, but locals said the cemetery was destroyed during road construction.
