This family cemetery was destroyed quite some time ago. This is the story as it was related to me.
The cemetery was located next to land that later became a strip mine. When machine was used it undercut the land the cemetery was on and the markers and the deceased all slid down the hill and where buried over again by the machinery. Some of the family remembers the cemetery and knew that at least six graves were there. It is presumed that Bruton Phillips and his wife Mary Polly Davis are buried there. Robert Phillips and wife Abigail Adkins; his son Stephen Phillips and wife Lucinda Johnson; his son Charles Alvie Phillips and wife Cynthia Henson are all assumed to have been buried there. There may also be others.
